Cultural Club

The Cultural association works on the extracurricular activities throughout the year. This helps the students to showcase their talents in various non-academic fields and allows them to participate in intra-college and inter-college festivals which brings an overall personality development. Every year the cultural association organizes our own inter collegiate fest ‘AURA, a fest of creative culture’ and also our intra-collegiate college fest ‘COLLEGE UTSAV’.

Ras garba

The “Ras Garba” event witnessed an enthusiastic participation from students as well as staff members who exhibited intense passion and great energy in performing the traditional ‘Garba’ dance.

Dressed in vibrant & colorful attire all the participants danced with joy to the beats of traditional garba music, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. A Competition was also introduced to identify the students who exhibited their dancing skills and also to reward the students who were “Best Dressed traditionally for Garba”.

Bio rangoli

The Bio Rangoli competition, held at our college, brought together students from various colleges to showcase their creativity and environmental consciousness. Participants crafted intricate rangoli designs using natural materials such as flowers, leaves, seeds, and other eco-friendly materials.

The competition not only highlighted the artistic talents of students but also emphasized sustainability and the importance of preserving nature.

AURA 2023 – 24

“AURA” – the Popular Mega Annual inter-Collegiate festival of “G.D.Jalan College” finally ended leaving ever lasting sweet memories in the minds of the participants from 60+ colleges.

College Utsav 2023 – 24

The campus of Ghanshyamdas Jalan College came alive with vibrant energy and cultural fervor on 20th January 2024 as the annual intra collegiate event, “College Utsav,” unfolded in all its glory. Organized by the diligent efforts of the cultural committee, the event aimed to showcase and celebrate the diverse cultural tapestry within the college community.

The festivities kicked off with an electrifying opening ceremony, where the college auditorium was transformed into a visual feast of colors. The main stage witnessed a mesmerizing array of performances that spanned a multitude of cultural expressions.

A grand ‘Convocation Ceremony’ was held today for the graduate Students of ‘Ghanshyamdas Jalan College’. The students were extremely delighted to get felicitated and be a part of the ‘Convocation Ceremony’ and walked out of the auditorium with a sense of achievement and plans for the road ahead.

AURA 22 – 23

All good things in life has to come to an end one day….

The inter-collegiate festival ‘AURA’ of G.D.Jalan College finally ended on 4th February, 2023 and the aura of ‘AURA’ is still lingering in and around our Campus and also in the hearts of all our dear participants from various colleges…

We would like to thank all the participants for their spectacular passionate performance and entertaining the audience thoroughly for THREE days from 2nd to 4th February, 2023 and leaving the audience spell-bound.

We would also like to thank all the Principals of the participated Colleges for their unconditional rock support extended to G.D.Jalan College to make the fest ‘AURA’ more than successful and leaving an ever-lasting memory in the minds of our participants and audience.

Fresher’s Party

Be late than Never!!!
G.D.Jalan Degree College Students thoroughly enjoyed the “Freshers Party” on the last day of the 1st term that couldn’t be organised in the beginning of the 1st Term… The students also selected “Miss Jalanite” and Mr.Jalanite of the year.

Convocation Day Celebration

G.D. Jalan College celebrated the long awaited “Convocation Day” on 23^rd April, 2022 in their sate of the art auditorium to felicitate their 2019-20 & 2020-21 batch of students.

The college witnessed the overwhelming response & the excitement amongst the students to participate on this special day & saw a sparkle in the eyes of the students when they received the degree & walked out of the auditorium with a degree in hand.

The students were greeted by Shri Nirmal Jhunjhunwala – Secretary of the Managing Committee, Shri Babulal Todi – Convener of the College Committee, Dr. Rajeshwari Ravi – Director Academics of G.D. Jalan College, Dr. R. Govindappa – Principal of G.D. Jalan College & All the teaching and Non-teaching Staff.

The Director Academics of the college, Dr. Rajeshwari Ravi delivered an inspiring speech to the students gathered in the auditorium & gave them few tips to have a successful career & also advised them on the importance of balancing the professional & the personal life by striking the right balance.

It was indeed a very proud moment for the students, their parents & the entire family of G.D. Jalan College.

Friendship Day (Friendship Band Making Competition)

“A Friend in Need is a Friend indeed”

A friendship is a bond between two persons who cares for each other. Keeping this in mind every year in the month of August, the 1^st Sunday is celebrated as International Friendship Day. Taking this forward the Cultural Committee of Ghanshyamdas Jalan College has organized a “Friendship Band Making Competition”. The activity was held on 8^th August 2022 in the seminar hall. Students of Degree College actively participated in the competition.

Rakshabandhan (Rakhi Making Competition)

Rakhi has deep significance and it has been used for the protection to whom it is tied since mythological times. The word ‘Raksha’ means protection. The brother promises his sister to protect her, the word Bandhan means to tie or ‘bond’. The Cultural Committee of Ghanshyamdas Jalan College had organised a Rakhi Making Competition on 10^th August, 2022 in the seminar hall from 11am to 12’ noon. Students of degree college actively participated in the competition.

All the participants displayed their creativity in the form of Rakhis. Our Director of Academics & Administration, Dr. Rajeshwari Ravi was invited as Judge for the event. After a brief observation, she declared the winners of the event and praised and motivated all the participant’s enthusiasm.

We express our deep gratitude to Our Managing committee members, Our Director, Principal, Teaching staff and Non-teaching staff for hosting & organising the activity. We are also thankful to our students for participating in the competition.
