About Our Trust ABVM

The eternal journey of A.B.V.M. Agrawal Jatiya Kosh traversed the prolonged path and has gracefully completed more than a century.  The expedition started long back in 1919, at the second session of the General Assembly of All India Marwadi Agrawal Hindu Mahasabha held at Madhobaug, Mumbai.  The session presided by Shri Ramlal Ganeriwala of Hyderabad was graced and addressed by Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our Nation.

Several prominent personalities who offered their helping hands in the difficult situation during the freedom fight also attended this session which concluded with an establishment of the Akhil Bharat Varshiya Marwadi Agrawal Jatiya Kosh (A.B.V.M. Agrawal Jatiya Kosh).

Later in 1923, the trust was registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860.

Main objectives of the trust:

  • To provide financial and medical help to the freedom fighters and their families in every possible way in that era.
  • To stop all anti-social practices with the overall development and spread of moral values by imparting quality education.
  • Upliftment of the weaker section of the society by providing financial, medical and educational facilities.

Initiatives of the trust:

  • Funded Rajputana Shiksha Mandal under which many gurukuls and schools were entrenched in all over Rajasthan.
  • In 1932, the trust provided cheap accommodation for the then needy by creating Agrawal Nagar at Dadar, Matunga having 136 tenements in six buildings.
  • In 1972, the trust provided cheap housing facilities to the needy and weaker sections of the society at Malad-East, Mumbai.
  • In 1986, our trusts dimension took a 360-degree turn towards the upliftment of the weaker sections in the suburban area of Mumbai, that is, Malad. The focus was upliftment by extending Financial, Medical & Educational support.
  • In 2003, they founded Seth Juggilal Poddar Academy (I.C.S.E.).
  • In 2009, Shri Tejpal Poddar Auditorium.
  • In 2011, Ghanshyamdas Jalan Junior College of Science & Commerce.
  • In 2014, Ghanshyamdas Jalan Degree College of Science, Commerce & Arts.

From 1919 till date, Akhil Bharat Varshiya Marwadi Agrawal Jatiya Kosh has continuously stood as a pillar as the benefactor in the field of education and social activities.


OUR TRUST A. B. V. M’s INITIATIVES DURING COVID-19

COVID-19 pandemic led to a global health and economic crisis.  In this situation, several community workers, social workers, philanthropists and the general public stood like strong pillars to support the needy ones.  Our Trust was one of them. Many such kinds of donations were done by our Trust for the welfare of society.

The donations done included:

  • For free food distribution to ‘ISKCON’ and ‘RSS-Kalyan’.
  • For COVID patient isolation Centre to ‘Shri Vidyaguru Foundation’ and ‘Shri Kalyan Aarogya Sadhan’, Sikar, Rajasthan. 
  • To ‘Asha Caterers’ for free food packet distribution.
  • To the ‘Star Incandescent’ and ‘Mani Bhandar’ for 200 water dispensers, were installed in various police stations, Municipal offices and hospitals in Mumbai, Thane and Kalyan.
  • To ‘Abhay Multi Pro Agencies’ for free distribution of biscuits to Migrant Labourers in trains.
  • To ‘Bhaktivedanta Hospital’, Mira Road.
  • To ‘United Fashion Apparels’ for 100 thermal thermometers.
  • To ‘Vijya Fabricators’ for 25 beds to Belapur Hospital.

Our Trust Organised a Free Ortho Medical Camp

A proper diet and workout with proper consultation from the experienced doctors are the basic essentials to maintain good health.  Our management is always ready to extend their support for the betterment of society.  Today, Health has become one of the major issues due to the modern lifestyle, the food we eat, the polluted environment and many more reasons.  Orthopaedic problems are one of the health issues which is related to the bones and muscles on which the whole body structure stands.

On 23rd  June, 2013 A.B.V.M. Agrawal Jatiya Kosh’s Ghanshyamdas Jalan College and Seth Juggilal Poddar academy in collaboration with Sancheti hospital (Pune) and Shri Ruliram Rajgarhia Lions Diagnostic Centre (Malad) organized a FREE ORTHOPEDIC MEDICAL CAMP to extend the benefits to the people from the nearby areas.

In this camp, there were facilities for free full body check-up and free pathology test for CBC and Blood sugar.  Dr. Parag Sancheti made a presentation on health for the patients at Shri Tejpal Auditorium.

The success of the camp has inspired our team to hold many more such camps for years to come.

Reaching out to the poor and needy is always the practise followed by our trust A.B.V.M. Agrawal Jatiya Kosh. Every year our trust distributes the essentials grocery items to the poor and needy.
