Library- A Knowledge Museum
Our library is well acquainted with books supporting classroom learning to intellectual learning, fiction & non-fiction books, journals for extensive reference and research.
The library of the college comprises a spacious, well-furnished and illuminated hall with adequate seating capacity for the students to read the daily newspapers, go through the latest syllabi, previous years question papers as well as textbooks & reference books which are regularly in-demand by students.
The objective is to help students develop reading habits for awareness and enhance their knowledge and enjoy their learning & have fun while they learn.
Computer Lab

The college provides reliable solutions for the academic computing needs of staff and students. The labs have updated PCs and printers, scanners, and an extensive software suite, providing a secure learning environment. The computer centre offers a projection and audio system. These labs provide instructors with fully configured computer facilities, delivering a high-tech, hands-on learning environment. The computer infrastructure offers a truly heterogeneous range of hardware and software platforms for students to appreciate and gain wide-ranging learning experience. Our fully Air-conditioned Computer lab and Internet facility is available to all the students. The interior of our computer lab creates the right ambience for learning.
Science Laboratory

Well-equipped Science laboratories with ultra-modern facilities, instruments and equipment’s form an important part of the college facilities. Very few colleges can boast of having such modern facilities where undergraduates can perform experiments using state-of-the-art research instrumentation in the course of their studies in Botany, Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Physics and Zoology. Our labs make it possible for the students to perform a wide range of complex experiments and acquire the skills necessary to conduct modern research in a safe and progressive scientific environment.
Chemistry Laboratory provides students to practice, support, and illustrate chemical concepts & principles studied in the theory class encompassing all three branches Organic, Inorganic, Physical chemistry encouraging analytical thinking. It also equips the students to address the need of the 21st century concerning chemical science applications. It has an attached preparation room where chemicals are stored and prepared for experiments.
Botany Laboratory enhances students to perform various practicals which are necessary for the study of identifying the structure, properties & systematics of all forms of plant life. The specimens preserved in the plant museum are observed through the eye of the microscope. Experiments on plant physiological, ecological & biochemical analysis are performed for a better understanding.
Physics Laboratory provides qualitative, quantitative and analytical skills needed for analysing data and solving problems concerned in science and technology, engineering and medicine. It aids a comprehensive hands-on practice of laboratory experiments which brings clarity in the mind of the students regarding the basic concept of the subject which helps them to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We also have a separate darkroom for the optical experiments.
Zoology Laboratory provides the students with a suitable environment to develop a detailed practical understanding of the animal kingdom by exploring the general anatomy of animals from different phyla through various slide examinations and observation of animal specimens preserved in the laboratory, applications of micro-techniques for slide preparation. The lab is also facilitated with the human skeleton, 3D models of organs & illustrating charts to make the students understand the animal anatomy easily.
Auditorium
The college has a state-of-art Auditorium that can accommodate more than 500 people. The hall is fully air-conditioned. These facilities cater to multiple uses such as conducting various Inter-Collegiate events, convocations, presentations, conferences, guest lectures, cultural activities, celebrations, gatherings etc.
Seminar Hall
The seminar hall is designed in a way to accelerate the teaching-learning process using modern technological aids inclusive of an LCD projector and Wi-Fi connectivity. The hall is fully air-conditioned. It is used for Faculty Development Programmes, Short-term Training Programs, Seminars, etc. throughout the year.
Language Lab
Language is considered as the medium of communication. Our college believes that students must have proficiency in any language they speak. Students are naturally proficient with our the commonly spoken language Hindi, English and their mother tongue and therefore we also encourage our students to learn a foreign language from the basket of foreign languages offered over and above their curriculum that can add to their profile and help them in the long run.
E-Cell
The E-Cell of Ghanshyamdas Jalan College encourages our students to come up with a simple innovative business idea. These ideas are further brainstormed, analyzed, polished, and tested with a small group of an audience as a pilot run. Depending upon the response received from the tested group of audience, for the business idea/s the actual launch of the business idea is done. The main objective of our E-Cell is to encourage the students to think out of the box and inspire them to be Entrepreneurs where they could generate employment opportunities for others and contribute immensely to the economy of our nation.
Gymkhana
The college Gymkhana also has its share of glory and contributes a great deal to the overall development of the students. It offers several on-campus amenities and other state-of-the-art Gymnasium.

Playground – Ready, Steady, Go!
Sports are deemed to be most important among co-curricular activities. We believe in the all-round physical, mental and spiritual developments of our students. A spacious college playground is available on the campus for students to engage in games and sports activities. The college has a full-fledged Basketball Court adjacent to the college building. Facilities exist for all the popular indoor and outdoor games like Cricket, Football, and Basketball, along with indoor facilities for Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess are also available. Students are encouraged to take part in Sports and Games competition at the inter-collegiate levels in addition to the intra–collegiate competition.
