It is well said, ‘A good book is equivalent to a hundred friends’. Books play a vital role in academics as well as non-academic learning. The Library Committee provides a channel of communication between the library, teachers and the students. The committee ensures updating and upgrading of books as per the need of the hour.

Book Exhibition organized by the Ghanshyamdas Jalan College Library
The Book Exhibition organized by the Ghanshyamdas Jalan College Library on January 10th, 2025, was a great success. This event was part of the ‘VAACHAN SANKALP MAHARASHTRA’ initiative, launched by the Government of Maharashtra and the University of Mumbai, to foster a reading culture among students. The exhibition, held in the Libary of the College, was meticulously planned by our Library Committee in partnership with prominent publishers and book vendors. It featured an extensive collection of books, including novels, storybooks, and academic resources.
The event saw participation from a range of book sellers, with many extending their support to the exhibition. The primary goal was to encourage students to embrace reading, providing them with access to a diverse selection of academic, fiction, and non-fiction books. The exhibition received a warm response from 333 visitors, including students, parents, and staff, all of whom took advantage of this unique opportunity. Staff members also used this occasion to enrich the library’s collection by placing orders with the participating vendors. The Book Exhibition was a tremendous success, generating enthusiasm and fostering a love for reading within the college community.
